In the absence of any submissions by MTWD
users live from the ground, Hippity the Green Bunny reviews the last 24 hours
from the perspective of his burrow. And a furrowed browed burrow
it must have been, by the sound of it. Once again, MTWD site admin have heavily
edited Hippitys piece, to ensure that each phrase is
not repeated three times and that sort of thing.
3 May,
I was beside
myself at 7.00 last night. I just couldnt
stop crying. 98 all
out for Middlesex, 262/4 Hants. I
come from a broken home and I am with Mummy at the moment, but I phoned Daddy
on the bunny phone to share the sadness.
Daddy said that a true fan sticks with their side through thick and thin. I said I would try. I said, Daddy, how come they spent all that
time in
4 May,
I hardly slept a
wink last night. But when I woke up this
morning I was full of the joys of spring.
Were only 164 runs behind and only have to take 6 wickets before we bat
again. I figure we can roll them out for
another 100 or so, then bat for four or five sessions,
500 or so runs, to put them under serious pressure batting last. I dug out my lucky ball and resolved to get
behind the team.

4 May
On with the
television and switch over to Ceefax Page 346. Its not quite as much fun as watching a real
match on the TV but its not bad.
4 May
Sadly, I fell
asleep and when I woke up hey presto, wed rolled them out for a mere
426. Not quite as quick as Id hoped,
but not far off. Johann Louw is my hero. I
was so excited at the thought of Middlesex batting again I lept
around the bed for a full 10 minutes between innings.
4 May
I must have
exhausted myself leaping around, because I fell asleep again and when I woke up
it was stumps. But weve scored over 200
runs, lost only 3 wickets and Straussy is still there
on 100+. Straussy
is my hero.
Looking forward
Its a pretty
straightforward ask now. We need to rack
up another 300-350 runs tomorrow and then put them under pressure to score runs
on Day 4 in a match they should have won today.
Simple game really when you know how.
And Hippity knows a lot more about cricket
than lots of you readers think.
Thank you for
reading this.
