Hell hole
"I have stayed in this hotel a number of times and made allowances for the rooms not being up to standard, after all we paid £75:00 for a family room. Each time the hotel has got progressively worse. During our last stay we were greeted by a hotel lobby full of youths smoking and the owner Tom passed out on the sofa. The stand in mamager informed us that the key pad to the room was broken, and that he would need to let us in the room with the master card. We were instructed to leave our belongings in the room and to bang on a certain window for the manager to let us in. On returning to our room, all of our belongings had been stolen, including all clothes, mobile telephones and even the tooth brushes. The door had not been forced, yet the owner claimed to the police that we had staged the robbery ourselves. Around three weeks later we were contacted by the police to inform us that a long term guest (one of the youths from reception) had been found wearing an item of the stolen clothing. The owner claimed he would pay the money back from his insurance, however despite numerous calls this has not happened and Tommy seems to have disappeared. Do not stay ther, you have been warned!!! "

Dol House
"We were sent here by Premier Inn. Charged £65 for b&b. and recieved a family room with water coming through the ceiling, a tv and dvd player that didn't work and a toilet that wouldnt flush. Breakfast consisted of being made to wait while the owner who was also the chef came back from wherever he went and then he persisted on talking to us while we were eating scrambeled egg on toast. We were charged £10 for egg on toast and pot of tea while we sat in a room with water pouring in from the ceiling yet again. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone if you have standards."

This hotel should be condemned on health...
"This hotel should be condemned on health and safety grounds! Approximately 40 family members were booked into this hotel and every single one checked out as soon as they arrived! This hotel was dirty and damp. Wallpaper was falling off the walls and ceilings. Wiring was exposed. There was even pornographic literature in one of the bedside drawers. The chef was witnessed cooking breakfast with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth. A previous review stated that this place makes Fawlty Towers look luxurious. How accurate! "

Have only given the Beechwood 1 out of 1...
"Have only given the Beechwood 1 out of 10 as there is no way to give less. I really cannot believe that places like this are allowed to operate. OK, we knew it was 2*, and had 'managed our expectations' accordingly, but NOTHING had prepared me for the filth, smells and disgusting furnishings. The pillows stunk. The carpet was sticky. The bin was full of someone else's rubbish. The bathroom was rotting away - literally. The bedding was damp. I could go on - but am sure you get the drift. We booked for two days but just stayed the one - and wouldn't have done that if we had any choice. Breakfast was surprisingly good - if you didn't mind the odd hair on the plate. I had a banana - they couldn't ruin that. £65 at the weekend isn't expensive - but I stayed at the Crowne Plaza in London every week for £89 a night, which is an interesting comparison. Tom (the owner?) said that he wasn't trying to compete against the Marriot, Malmaison and the like, but the Beechwood had its own 'little touches'. Too right it had!"

This hotel makes Faulty Towers seem like...
"This hotel makes Faulty Towers seem like luxury. The rooms were smelly. Ours had bare wires coming out of the wall and jagged broken tiles on the bathroom floor. The bath had the previous guests used shampoo sachets littered in it. The tea bags provided were unwrapped and old. Another member of our party had no hot water in their shower for three days. The breakfast was almost nonexistent. There was some cereal and some fruit in a brown paper bag, but no milk or tea and coffee. During breakfast there was water dripping through the ceiling, which we were assured was just the person upstairs having a shower. To be fair, the bed was comfortable and we slept well, however the overall experience was not one that I would wish on anyone."

"too busy for sightseeing"
"I have stayed in 100s of hotels and B&BS allover the U.K This one has to be the worsed by a long way. I'd stayed at this place a few years ago and it was run by a very nice man called Mr Kahn. After walking in this time we were greated by a scruffy looking man who looked as if he'd just rolled out of bed. After we checked in and let our cases in our rooms we headed back to work. The 1st night the fun and games started, there was no food on the menu and the bar wasn't very well stocked. Still we smiled and accepted the food that was on offer, OMG. I ordered a steak, it was like boot leather! i didn't even manage to cut the damn thing. After my meal of chips and mushrooms i settled down for a few beers. I was quite suprised to watch the owner Tom drinking like there was no tomorrow. Even better next morning, breakfast was supposed to be from 7am. The place was deserted apart from us confused looking guests, no cooks no owner, nothing. At last! Tom's wife came in still drunk from the night before and asked us to knock Tom out of bed. He came into the dining area stinking of drink with no shoes or socks on, damn this was just the 1st day. It got alot worse after that. i'll not go on and on i think you all get the idea. DO NOT STAY THERE, you'd be better off in a cardboard box:)"
