Middlesex v Australians, Lord’s, 19 June 2010

Looks cold…IS cold!

One of my favourite King Cricket “match reports” this – it is the story of a freezing cold day at Lord’s in mid June with Daisy (Janie) watching Middlesex play a match to help warm up the Australians.

Here is a link to the King Cricket match report.

Just in case anything ever happens to King Cricket, here is a link to the scraped version.

Here is a link to the scorecard and all those geeky details on Cricinfo.

I don’t think we stayed until the end – we went to the National Theatre that evening and I’m pretty sure we went back to the flat first.

  1. Very pleased to read this. That match was my stag ‘day’ which I enjoyed enormously with a dozen or so chums. We went to Lahore in the evening (the one in Aldgate, not Pakistan)

  2. I have no recollection of it being cold. Must have been enjoying it too much. And if I needed clothes in the area I would walk to Marks in Edgware rd without hesitation. I suppose if you are approaching from the St John’s Wood side it would have been a hike.

    1. Hi Jeffy. Good to hear from you. I’m glad to learn that you enjoyed that day and felt sufficiently warm. As it was your stag day, I’m guessing that you and your friends might have been partaking of some warming drinks. As for the choice of M&S on Edgware Road over the St John’s Wood High Street boutique – the former would most certainly have been more convenient for us twixt Lord’s and my flat. But had I suggested that we go to M&S rather than the posh shops, I suspect that Daisy would have taken that as a suggestion to go home rather than to revive the day of cricket with suitable clothing. 😉
